A dialogue box is an interactive window which the user can use to apply changes to a document.

The procedure of displaying a dialogue varies depending with the exact action one is after and the panel there of however, most basic dialogue boxes unlike in earlier versions of office where one had to click several options from long menus – in 2007 you simply click on a panel extension.

By this we mean that first you will click on the main ribbon. Such as home ribbon

Move the mouse pointer to the targeted panel then click on its extension (where the red arrow is pointing)

N.B: other panels do not have the extension but instead they have just a few icons which when clicked they will either display a pane or a dialogue box
