Primary/main memories 

Primary memories which are also referred to as main memories, they are memories located within the system unit, on the system board. 

They are referred to as primary memories since they are directly accessed by the microprocessor unlike the secondary storage media that are accessed through special devices called drives

The two primary memories are: 

  1. Link 1 ROM 
  2. link 2 RAM

These two memories are mounted on the mother board and accessed by the CPU through communication links called buses
